Ibadan Blast: The Street Has About 20 Buildings But Nothing Is Left, It Has Turned Into Rubble - According to Olutayo Famous ColeAccording to Olutayo Famous Cole, an Arise TV correspondent reporting from Reverend Aderinola Street, the scene of the Ibadan blast, almost twenty structures have been reduced to rubble. He said that the nearby structures were also affected, some entirely destroyed and others only slightly damaged. According to him, the severity of the incident disrupted the peaceful night for many residents in the area. He however expressed a collective hope that such catastrophic events do not repeat. He noted that the cause of the explosion was attributed to negligence and residents’ failure to provide detailed information to security agents about the stockpiling of explosives in the area.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, “Presently, we are at Reverend Aderinola Street. The street has about 20 buildings but nothing is left, it has been turned into rubble. The surrounding buildings have been partially affected, some totally affected. Over 50 vehicles have been destroyed because of the magnitude of this blast. And many properties have been destroyed and that has sent shockwaves around the city of Ibadan. All these buildings around this vicinity have been affected. Many of the residents here couldn’t sleep in the comfort of their homes last night and we can only hope that this type of event doesn’t re-occur.
