Reactions have been triggered by remarks made recently by Bashir Ahmad, an advisor to former President Muhammadu Buhari, regarding Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Bashir Ahmad said in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he has been criticizing the President and his administration ever since Peter Obi lost the election the previous year, but the President has never replied to any of his remarks. He expressed his satisfaction with the President’s lack of response.
He compared this to the case of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in last year’s election, Atiku Abubakar. He said that Atiku Abubakar has been receiving responses consistently from the Presidency.
He concluded by drawing parallels between the two men, saying that there are different levels of engagements playing out.
He said, “I like the way the Presidency puts Peter Obi in the right place; despite his unending comments since after his loss, and there has never been a direct response to him. Meanwhile, Atiku has been receiving back-to-back responses from the State House. There are different levels of engagement at play.”
Peter Obi has been very vocal about the situation of things in the country, and has been quite critical of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s handling of security and economy.
