While serving as acting governor, Philip Shaibu, the deputy governor of Edo State, claimed to have successfully enlisted the assistance of the Chief of Army Staff, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Chief of Air Staff (CAS) to deploy cutting-edge equipment to address conflicts between farmers and herders in the state. Shaibu mentioned this accomplishment in an interview with TVC while speaking of his track record and his capability to handle complex challenges. He also stated that if he were to become the governor of Edo State, he would humble himself before President Tinubu and plead with him to facilitate the repair of the deteriorating roads in Benin.
