Daniel Bwala, the top spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign, recently commended the President of Nigeria for his kind reception at the presidential palace. Bwala thanked the president for his graciousness in welcome him back, even though he had previously left the president’s party to join the PDP. Bwala, who had previously belonged to the All Progressives Congress (APC), joined the PDP soon after In the 2023 presidential race, Bola Tinubu declared Kashim Shettima as his running mate. Bwala gave the APC’s preference for politics over maintaining national unity as the justification for his defection. In the press interview aired by Channels TV on Wednesday, he clarified his status in the PDP, asserting that he is a private citizen rather than a leader in the party.

Bwala allegedly said in the press interview that Channels TV aired on Wednesday, “First of all, I’m not a leader in the PDP; I’m a private citizen, but you must also admit that I had my history with Mr. President when I was in the APC.” I was essentially his main spokesman prior to the primaries, and I backed him because I thought highly of him. I’m utilising this platform to discuss some of those pasts. Rather than being deeply offended, I’m glad the president even gave me some life lessons.
