Akinwumi expressed his intense feelings by calling Akeredolu a buddy, brother, and colleague. He offered his condolences, praising the governor’s noble attributes and noting that Akeredolu had finished his journey, fought a valiant war, and served the people with compassion. Akinwumi, the president of the AfDB, prayed to God to console the families of Governor Akeredolu and the good people of Ondo state.
“I am saddened by the passing away of my friend and brother, Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State.”
“You fought a good fight. You finished the race. You were kindhearted. You served the people with commitment.” Said, Akinwumi.
“May God comfort your family and the people of Ondo State. Adieu Aketi.” Said, Akinwumi.
Recall, the governor, who had been contending with leukemia, a form of blood cancer, for an extended period, succumbed to the illness in the early hours of Wednesday at a hospital in Lagos State.
