The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) was established by the late Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua, also known as TB Joshua. Former TB Joshua devotees have attested to the incomprehensibly incredible influence he possessed and wielded over them. The man’s charisma and authority were the subject of a three-part documentary called “Disciples: The Cult of TB Joshua,” which aired on BBC’s Africa Eye. Dark facts concerning the man’s alleged atrocities, including child abuse, forced abortions, rape, and physical assault, were revealed to the public by more than 25 former devotees. Joshua was more powerful than Satan, according to one of the disciples, a British woman named Rae. Rae claimed to have spent 12 years in the SCOAN compound in Lagos after giving up her degree programme at age 21 to become a disciple and endured two years of sexual abuse at the hands of the cleric.
Regarding the late clergyman’s influence, Rae said:
“Even just entering a building will cause the evil spirit inside of him to begin trembling.
“He is so powerful, more powerful than Satan himself”
According to a different disciple named Bisola, the entire compound centred around Joshua, with everyone vying for his favour by outdoing one another.
