In a speech to his supporters on January 22, 2024, the Chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike, claimed that the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, was among those who supported the recent kidnappings in Abuja because he wanted Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the current Nigerian Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the former governor of Rivers State, to resign from office. According to Premium Times, the Chairman of the Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike said “He sent people to go and tell Abuja that Mr Wike is playing politics in Rivers State (while) they are doing kidnappings in Abuja. It means that Mr Fubara is part of those supporting the kidnapping in Abuja because he wants Mr Wike to leave office. Mr Wike will not leave office. (President) Tinubu is aware of who he appointed. Mr Tinubu is happy that Mr Wike is delivering the dividends of democracy. Mr Wike is the pride of the Rivers people. We are challenging anybody to tell us if he can beat the record of Mr Wike. Governor Fubara is very naïve.”

  1. This is a very serious allegations. The Federal Government should handle this matter with altmost seriousness.Many life have lost. Playing politics with Human life should be discouraged.
