“Less than 100k pilgrims enjoyed free, non refundable Hajj subsidy of N90B. Conversely, 30M students are allocated N5B as a student loan with 14 preconditions that can only be fulfilled by those who don’t need the loan.
Hajj is enjoined of all muslims who can afford it and are mentally and physically capable. But it is not a compulsory ritual.
To stake N90B for a ritual in a country where over 150m people are grappling with starvation, hunger, disease with no clean water to drink with over 20 out of school children is immoral, absurd, unwise, and contradictory.
