As President Bola Tinubu’s convoy made its way through the busy alleys of the Idumota market, vendors and citizens of Lagos Island expressed their displeasure with the governor by yelling that they were hungry, according to DAILY TIMES.

Nonetheless, a lot of Nigerians have commented since the article made its way online.

In a post that Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour shared on his verified Twitter page on Saturday, he said he honestly hopes that those in office realize that there are limits to the coping mechanisms of the people. He said Nigerian leaders should show that they care and not oppressing people with cars bought with their money.

He wrote on his page, “I honestly hope that those in office realize that there are limits to the coping mechanisms of our people. It is extremely tough on the poor with record inflation, high food prices and stagnant wages. Government revenue cannot be up by over 100% and there are no meaningful welfare packages to support the poor.
