General Otiki: He was court-martialed, the monies were recovered and he was dismissed -According to General Musa

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa, has discussed the situation of General Hakeem Otiki of Sokoto, who had approved the transit of a substantial quantity of money that was purportedly pilfered by soldiers who delivered the money. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

General Musa stated that Otiki was discharged from the military and that the pilfered money was found in an interview with Daily Trust TV. He claimed that through the court-martial procedure, the judicial system fulfilled its responsibility to ensure accountability.

It would be recalled that the general court-martial that was headed by the then army’s chief of policy and plans, Lamidi Adeosun, found Mr. Otiki guilty of disobedience to service orders, theft of public property, diverting operational money, and engaging in private businesses

In General Musa’s words: “He was court-martialed, the monies were recovered anwd he was dismissed. It was done. It is a legal system, you know the legal system has its ways of doing things but I know he went through a court-martial, the monies were recovered, in fact, he was dismissed as a General”.
