Such request by Minister Dave Umahi has however, raised the reaction to Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who took to his official X account to state that in 2022, former minister for works, Babatunde Fashola was awarded the sum of 6.28 billion Naira for the surface maintenance of the Third Mainland Bridge after he said that the bridge was in need of urgent repairs and is expected to run for a period of 24 months, adding that after shutting the bridge down for several months and expending over 6 billion Naira, Lagosians were allegedly welcomed with a carnival of potholes that caused accidents.

The businessman finally mentioned that the federal government is now budgeting 21 billion Naira for the maintenance of the same bridge, adding that;
