Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour: Should Lagos be spending close to N2 billion in just three months transporting the governor in a private helicopter

 

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former governorship candidate for the Lagos State Labour Party, has taken to social media to ask Nigerians if it is appropriate for Lagos State to be wasting nearly two billion Naira on a private plane that it uses to transport the state governor around the state in less than three months. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who penned down such question through his official X account few hours ago, shared a document of the alleged expenses made by the Lagos State government for the use of some services in the state, as he alleged that in April 2022, the State government spent over 1 million Naira on helicopter charter service for the governor’s regular travelling and it also spent 512 million Naira on the same helicopters in July and August of 2023

The businessman then asked netizens;

“Should Lagos be spending close to N2 billion in just three months transporting the governor in a private helicopter when most of his primary constituency in Lagos Island do not have portable water running from their taps?”

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour then disclosed that his government will rather use drones for project supervisions in Lagos State, adding that his government will not pay for officials to travel on private jets and any official that intends to fly a private jet will pay for such service.
