Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Response after a man said there is a history of violence targeted at the IgbosGbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, a former governorship candidate for the Lagos State Labour Party, reacted on social media to a comment made by an unidentified man claiming that Southeasterners in Nigeria had always been the targets of multiple attacks since ancient times. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour who reacted through his official X account few minutes ago, shared a tweet of former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi that he will not be reduced to the level of those that wallow in ethnic politics.

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour also shared a video of a yet-to-be identified man who criticized Minister of Works, Dave Umahi for saying that Peter Obi is inciting the South East against the present administration.

According to the man, he never expected such statement from Minister Dave Umahi and he detest the “dog whistling of an entire ethnic group in Nigeria,” adding that they have consistently scapegoated the Igbos and it is unacceptable, because there is a history of violence targeted at the Igbos since 1953.

The man then revealed that the Igbos have allegedly been massacred since before Nigeria’s independence and Nigeria cannot stand in unity when one tribe is being targeted always.

And so Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour in response to such video, stated that it is a shame that Peter Obi’s well-intentioned criticism had to be reduced to ethnic politics, but he is glad that there are journalists and commentators that see through the charade and dispassionately educate the public.
