During a recent TVC interview, Bwala shared that in a meeting at the Villa, Tinubu explained that post-election, financial constraints posed challenges to effective governance. Tinubu reportedly presented two options to Bwala: removing the subsidy, a difficult choice for Nigerians but with potential revenue generation, or maintaining the subsidy, risking a government financial crisis. Tinubu emphasized the necessity for leaders to make tough, albeit unpopular, decisions for effective leadership.

He remarked, “When I sat with Tinubu he told me when he won election no money was on the ground. Because there is no money, you had to hit the ground running, you can not go and borrow everything in life because Nigerians are already complaining about borrowing.

“So you are faced with two choices: Number one, you remove the subsidy which will then be tough on Nigerians but then there is a hope that you can generate revenue or not remove the fuel subsidy and in the next few months, the street will be flooded with people because the reality will dawn on Nigerians that we don’t have any money to run the government.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
