In a video shared on YouTube by Daily Trust TV, Ezekwelu alleged that Fubara utilized President Tinubu’s intervention to his advantage, buying time and allowing Wike to make critical mistakes. He said when Tinubu proposed a peace deal between them, Fubara accepted the terms without contention and it was a political masterstroke. He said after Fubara accepted the peace deal, he later raised concerns about Wike’s compliance to the deal. Ezekwelu said Fubara was able to garner support from stakeholders who had grievances against Wike and this maneuver solidified his political standing and gave him significant backing

In Ezekwelu’s words: “Fubara used President Tinubu’s intervention to buy himself time and allow Wike to make critical political mistakes, fighting those he couldn’t fight for whatever reason.
