He claimed that Fubara’s Ijaw ethnicity, which is the fourth largest in Nigeria and the majority in the region, might give him an advantage over Wike.

He described the Ijaws as resilient people who have not always held prominent positions but now see one of their own, Fubara, rise to power.

Characterizing Fubara as calm, level-headed, and meticulous, he argued that he is not someone to be underestimated.

He said, “If you are talking strictly on ethnicity, Fubara might have a slight advantage of indigeneship, to the extent that the ancestry can be traced out. And the Ijaws are the majority. From all indications, they are the fourth largest in Nigeria, resilient people, not always on top for some kind of reasons. But now, their man has come on top. He came out cool, levelheaded. He (Fubara) probably played dead long enough, that’s the wrongest person to take on. He is a patient, a thoroughly detailed person.
