Fubara Impeachment: They Gave Me A Lot Of Money, But I Refused - According to Edison EhieEdison Ehie, the current chief of staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, was the factional speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly before becoming governor. He has stated that he experienced harassment as a result of not endorsing the impeachment effort. He disclosed that, despite being given a large sum of money, he declined an invitation to support the impeachment of Governor Fubara. He said that he and others were singled out and declared wanted due to his failure to back the plan to remove Fubara from office.

According to Edison Ehie, “They said they have killed and buried me; they said they have declared me wanted; is this not me? We are coming.”

“For this thing they did to your son and to our sons they have kept in Kuje prison, we are going to teach them a lesson of political arithmetics.”

“Because everything they planned did not work, they invited me to impeach the governor, and I told them clearly that I won’t join them.”
