“We had a lot of litigations from residents,” Wike noted. The minister explained that various lawsuits were filed by residents, posing a significant challenge to the progress of their work. These legal battles created an atmosphere of uncertainty and potential delays.

He recalled a particularly alarming incident during one of his travels. “In fact, one of the days I traveled, I was called that police had come here to park all their workers.” This unexpected action by the police threatened to halt the project entirely, as it involved the detainment of essential personnel.

Wike intervened immediately upon receiving the news. “I told the police that this is a government job and not a private job; you have to release them.” His quick response and clarification emphasized the public nature of the project, compelling the police to reconsider their actions and release the detained workers.

To further address any ongoing issues, Wike advised those with grievances to formally communicate with the FCT administration. “I told them that if there is anybody that has a problem, you should write to the FCT.” This approach aimed to streamline the resolution of disputes and ensure that proper channels were used for complaints and concerns.
