In an interview with Channels TV, Dalung went to the extent of saying that if given a Bible, he would swear to the truth of this statement. He attributed the president’s approval to sentimental appeal, suggesting that the concept of redesigning the currency resonates with Buhari’s past actions. He said as a military Head of State, Buhari had undertaken a similar initiative during that period.
In Dalung’s words: “Even if I am given Bible, I will swear that [Buhari] approved Naira redesign. Because the Naira redesign appeals to his sentiment, when he was a military Head of State, that was the same thing he did, so if it was again done this time around, I have every reason to believe that he is aware of it.
