Speaking on Kaakaki, an AIT program, Prof. Utomi claimed that everyone who ought to have joined him in order to stop his prediction was waiting for something from the Buhari government till it severely damaged the nation.

He said, “Look, I want to focus on how Nigeria can move forward but it’s hard not to feel like I told you so. A couple of weeks after General Buhari was sworn in, I was speaking at the launching of the Ibadan school of government and public policy. And the things I said will happen to Nigeria have happened. All those who should have joined at that time were waiting for something to fall to them from General Buhari. They were waiting for their turn. They were waiting for this, they were waiting for that.

And progressively, General Buhari crippled Nigeria and brought us to the point where we are even thinking more wrong policies in responding to the damage of the Buhari era. Now if we only look at things bearing in mind that we will be judged, whether we like it or not everybody has judgement coming to them.
