Following his arrest in Kenya and return to Nigeria, Kanu was charged with terrorism and has been detained since 2021.

Kalu, speaking on the “South East Political Roundtable” radio program, emphasized the ongoing talks for Kanu’s release. He urged South-East youths to cease the IPOB’s sit-at-home directive, expressing concerns that it deterred investors from the region.

In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu urged those with arms to adopt a non-kinetic approach and participate in the Peace In South-East Project.

He emphasized the importance of laying down weapons for a peaceful resolution to security challenges and other regional concerns.

There’s a detailed strategy. It’s not by violence; you can’t coerce the government through violence. It has never worked and won’t work. Let’s be wiser. The wisdom is in peace.”

The Deputy Speaker called for support for Kanu, emphasizing that peaceful efforts would resonate positively, stating, “This voice of peace will echo through the Villa, and he will come out.”

Acknowledging the President’s positive response to the Peace In South-East Project, Kalu urged an end to the Monday sit-at-home directive, emphasizing the Igbo people’s resilience and hardworking nature.

He highlighted the eagerness of Igbo billionaires to invest in the region and urged unity for collective progress.

Kalu clarified that President Bola Tinubu is not against the South-East, citing examples of key appointments and projects directed towards the region.

He encouraged a united front, assuring that unity would empower the South-East to achieve its aspirations. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
