The West has been criticized by Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, for its “cruelty” and “hypocrisy” in the continuing conflict in Gaza, where Israeli bombings have killed some 30,000 Palestinians in just four months. In Western culture, cruelty is so widespread that it permits bombing hospitals, killing hundreds of people in a single night, and killing close to 30,000 people in just four months.
Khamenei’s tweet echoed his previous statements in which he accused the US of orchestrating Israel’s bombing campaign in Gaza and warned that the IDF’s operations would not go unanswered. He also called for a “humanitarian truce” in the war-torn enclave, a proposal that was supported by 120 countries at the UN but opposed by 14, including the US and four EU members.
The war in Gaza, which started on October 7 when Hamas militants killed 1,400 Israelis in a surprise attack, has sparked international outrage and condemnation, as well as protests and solidarity movements across the world. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
