Prof. Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, a human rights activist and lawyer, responded to an X user who had attacked him after he had complimented Alex Otti, the governor of Abia state, for paying off pension debt the state had accumulated since 2014. However, after the report surfaced online, Chidi Anselm Odinkalu praised governor Alex Otti and the X user reacted.
The X user wrote on his page;
“Chidi, your matter weak me. Even without the recent increase in the states allocations, many states were already doing this without noise. You go dey praise fowl but dey condemn elephant! So payment of retirees na millennium project?”.
Reacting to the statement that was made by the X user, Chidi Odinkalu said if he knew about Abia state, he wouldn’t be so glib.
Chidi Odinkalu wrote on his page;
“Mr. Rev, I am glad you admit that you are weak because that is what it is. As at the beginning of Q4 in 2023, over 21 states were struggling with arrears of pensions.
