The Publicity Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, Chibike Ikenga, accused Governor Fubara of inciting a second wave of crises in the state through an indignant video broadcast by TVC.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

He maintained that Rivers State might have avoided more unrest if Governor Fubara had followed the Court of Appeal’s directive. Ikenga admitted that Governor Fubara announced a caretaker committee in defiance of the court’s order to preserve the status quo, blaming his impatience for the ongoing agitation in Rivers State.

According to him, “I think it is unfortunate that after the court ordered the maintenance of the status quo, the governor acted impatiently and made decisions that disrupted peace, leading to another round of crisis in Rivers State. If the governor had obeyed the Court of Appeal’s decision, he wouldn’t have proceeded to announce the expiration of the tenure of local government chairmen. Had he respected the Court of Appeal, he wouldn’t have appointed a caretaker committee, which is currently a matter before the court.
