As per a post on his verified X handle, Hananya Naftali @HananyaNaftali wrote about Cedrick Garin, an Israeli-Philippino IDF warrior who lost his life in the ongoing conflict in Gaza against Palestinian Hamas. According to the article, the soldier moved to Israel with his mother after being born in the Philippines. He continued to use the post as a source despite having dropped out of school, turned into a street tout, and got involved in a variety of local criminal activities. His crime became a burden on his mother to the extent that she weep for him. After everything, a turnaround moment came into his life and he was enlisted into the Israeli Defence Force, IDF, where he was severely awarded certificate of gallantry for his excellent display and fighting skills in the battlefield. Late 2023, September to be precise, the mother wrote words of prayer for him through the IDF, asking God to be his son’s security and shield against the enemies in the war.
Unfortunately, the brave Garin was killed in a war while protecting the territorial integrity of Israel. The mother said: “today am paying tribute to you, my son, weeping uncontrollably in tears, saying “How will I deal with everything now that you are gone. I will miss you so much. I love you, my child. I will not forget you.” The Philippine community in Israel praying for the family and his household.
