CBN Relocation: Abuja Is A Federal Capital Not Northern Issue, The Noise Should Be Ignored - According to Sanusi

In a statement he released regarding the issue, Sanusi said that Abuja is not a Northern issue, but the federal capital of Nigeria, and that as long as the decision is not in the interest of the CBN, the noise being raised about the issue should be ignored. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

According to the report by Vanguard, Sanusi said, “My advice to the Governor is to go ahead with his policy. Once the CBN starts bending to political pressure on one thing it will continue doing so.

“Northern politicians will shout that this is moving from Abuja to Lagos. Abuja is a federal capital not a Northern issue. So long this is a principled decision, the noise should be ignored.”

Sanusi said that moving certain functions of the CBN to Lagos is a wise move, and that he would have done the same thing as the CBN governor, but he didn’t have enough time in office to do that.
