He posted a message on his verified Twitter feed on Friday that included this assertion.
His remarks follow gunmen’s Christmas Eve raid of Plateau State, which resulted in the deaths of multiple locals.
In the post that he shared, he said there were times that Obasanjo would fly from his foreign trips straight to the affected states, because he knew that he took the oath to protect lives and properties and him only was the commander in chief of the armed forces.
He wrote, “Former President Obasanjo appears to be the only Nigeria,s president who visited places of human and natural disasters to empathize and sympathize with victims and their loves ones; and to also take measures to stop their re-occurrence. There were times he would fly from his foreign trips straight to the affected states, because he knew that he took the oath to protect lives and properties and him only was the commander in chief of the armed forces”.
