In a video recently shared on YouTube by Daily Trust TV, Lawal alleged that he was a shield of the former President Buhari. He said he was accused of giving a contract worth 7.2 million naira to a company he was once part of. He said he explained that he had already left the company before the contract was awarded but his explanation feel on deaf ears. He said he was taken to court over these allegations and when the court found that there was no evidence of corruption against him, he was cleared of all charges

They said I gave a company under me, which I was to be a managing Director, contract of 7.2 million naira consultancy.
