In Abuja on Tuesday, Tinubu made this statement while introducing two books: “Muhammadu Buhari: The Nigerian Legacy—2015–2023 (Vols. 1–5)” and “Working with Buhari (2015–2023).”

According to Vanguard, during his speech, he referred to Buhari’s previous statement about retiring to his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, if he was unable to find enough rest.

He said, “I remember he added that if his supporters and friends deny him enough rest in Daura, he would run to the Republic of Niger. Well, as you all know, he can no longer escape to the Niger Republic because of the border closure.”

Tinubu expressed his joy in welcoming Buhari to Abuja and praised him as a patriotic and dedicated public servant who has been serving the country since he enlisted in the army in 1962.

Moreover, Tinubu acknowledged the author of the book, Femi Adesina, who was his former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity from 2015 to 2023. He emphasized that the memoir provides valuable insights into the challenges faced during Buhari’s eight-year administration and affirmed his commitment to carrying forward some of Buhari’s initiatives.

He recognized the challenging period when Buhari assumed office, tackling economic hardships and the Boko Haram insurgency. He commended the efforts made to reclaim territory and push the terrorists to the outskirts of Lake Chad.

He pledged to address the unresolved challenges inherited from Buhari’s tenure, which included both assets and liabilities.

Furthermore, he outlined his administration’s dedication to constructing a better nation by fostering a thriving economy and ensuring security to achieve prosperity.

He acknowledged the ongoing task of safeguarding the entire country and vowed to eradicate the persisting threats posed by Boko Haram, Ansaru, banditry, and kidnapping gangs. He firmly declared that he would not rest until every agent of darkness had been uprooted. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
