A video has surfaced showing a junior-ranking military personnel berating Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the arrest and mistreatment of a fellow soldier caught driving against traffic in the state. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
News ToGo reports that in the viral footage, Governor Sanwo-Olu instructed his security details to apprehend motorcyclists violating traffic rules. During the confrontation, one of the detained individuals identified himself as a soldier while being forcefully taken into a vehicle by security operatives.
Governor Sanwo-Olu in the video sternly stated, “Arrest him, arrest him! Take him into your vehicle, you are telling me you are a soldier, and that is more reason I am going to lock you up. Get inside there, useless boy! you are telling me you are a soldier.”
The soldier, in response, pleaded, “I am sorry sir, I am sorry sir.”
The governor’s decision to order the arrest of the soldier incited displeasure among the rank and file of the army. In separate videos soldiers expressed their frustration with the governor’s derogatory remarks about the detained soldier.
Quoting an unnamed soldier from one of the videos, he angrily rebuked the Governor, saying, “You are calling a soldier useless, but when you want to do your dirty work, you use the soldiers.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
