Members of the Rivers Ijaw Peoples Congress met with members of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) in an attempt to find a long-term solution to the conflict amid the political rivalry between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his immediate predecessor, who is currently the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Speaking at a meeting in Yenogoa, Bayelsa State, Boma Iyaye, a member of the Ijaw peoples Congress urged the IYC not to take sides in the political crisis. He said contrary to what some people are saying that Wike hates Ijaw people, the FCT Minister has actually shown commitment and love to the Ijaw nation. He said the next major appointment Wike made in Rivers State after the emergence of Fubara as Governor was given to him, an Ijaw son.
He said in a video posted by Arise TV:
“My president and your exco, we are appealing to you, don’t take sides. Let them not come and deceive you because that is what they are selling to people. Nyesom Wike hates Ijaw people, Nyesom Wike does not like Ijaw people, he’s fighting Ijaw people, he wants to remove Ijaw Governor. No! That’s not true, because Nyesom Wike has shown serious commitment and love to the Ijaw nation.”
“After the emergence of Sim Fubara as Governor of Rivers State, the next major appointment in Rivers State, he gave it to an Ijaw son, my humble self. He has also facilitated the appointments of other Ijaw sons into positions of authority at the federal level.”CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
