In a meeting with representatives of the different Gaza border villages, Gantz underlined the urgent necessity to obtain the release of hostages who are currently being held in Gaza.
“The priority right now is the hostages; there is time to dismantle Hamas,” Minister Gantz asserted.
He acknowledged the time-intensive nature of eliminating the threat posed by the militant group and expressed hope for relative security in the region by the summer.
Gantz also revealed that the Israeli troops operating in Gaza are approaching the city of Rafah, which shares a border with Egypt.
