The prosecution had raised the idea of using the armed forces to bring former governor Yahaya Bello to the Federal High Court in Abuja to answer to allegations of 80 billion naira in money laundering. Bello had not been taken into custody by the EFCC thanks to Governor Usman Ododo’s intervention in Abuja.

In a YouTube video uploaded by Channels TV, Fanwo vehemently criticized the idea of deploying the military to the Kogi government residence. He contended that such an action would be tantamount to mutiny and would effectively constitute a coup against the state government. Fanwo questioned the basis of assuming that Bello was present at the government residence, emphasizing the need for the EFCC to conduct thorough investigations before making such assertions.

Fanwo articulated his concerns as follows: “When they talk about military coming to Kogi government house that will amount to mutiny and that will amount to coup against the government of Kogi State.
