The comment comes in reaction to Atiku Abubakar’s assertion that Tinubu and his appointees have been accusing the former president Muhammadu Buhari’s administration of leaving a “dead” economy behind rather than addressing Nigeria’s economic problems.

The presidency has now told the former Vice President of Nigeria to admit that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inherited a weak economy. It was also stated that the economy that Tinubu inherited was plagued by decades of significant fiscal deficits, a low revenue base, high external and domestic debts.

The statement which was shared on the official X handle of Bayo Onanuga reads;

“Atiku should be honest enough to admit that President Tinubu inherited a weak economy, which to all intents and purposes and to ensure the survival of our country needs a complete overhaul.
