Babagana Zulum Claims that 200,000 Boko Haram fighters and their families have ended their lives

According to Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno, severe flooding in Maiduguri, the state capital, has impacted over two million people, as reported by The Cable news. The Alau Dam broke, causing the flood. The dam had been full for the last week. In an interview with BBC News not long ago, Governor Zulum talked about how bad things are and said that the full damage and death toll won’t be known until the floods have gone down. As emergency services and local governments work to assess and react to the crisis, the governor’s words make the disaster seem even worse. The collapse of the Alau Dam has devastated a lot of land, hurting millions of people and causing an urgent need for help and relief.

The government of the state is coordinating efforts to help people who have been harmed by the flooding and meet their immediate needs. In the middle of the current crisis, Governor Zulum also thought about recent changes in Borno State’s security. He said that more than 200,000 people who were part of Boko Haram and their families have returned to normal life in the last two years.

In spite of the problems we’re facing right now, the governor thinks that these efforts have made a big difference in bringing peace and stability back to the area. “Over 200,000 Boko Haram members and their families have chosen a different path in the last two years,” he said.
