In response to a recent claim made by Major General Danjuma Ali-Keffi (Retd), a former general officer commanding (GOC) of one division of the Nigerian Army, regarding the fatal plane crash that claimed the lives of Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff, and eleven other senior military officers, Air Vice Marshal Gbolahan Adekunle, the former Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Air Force, has responded. In an interview with Arise TV, Adekunle said Ali-Keffi alleged that he witnessed the aircraft carrying Lieutenant General Attahiru, at tree top level before the fatal crash and it must have been shut down. Adekunle said if the aircraft was already at tree top level, which is typically around 50 feet or less from the ground during the landing phase, at what point was it shot down?

Adekunle also stated that in legal terms, the burden of proof lies with the one making the allegation and he emphasized the need for General Ali-Keffi to substantiate his claim with concrete evidence

In Adekunle’s words: “If it was at tree top when you saw it at what point was it shot down? If it was at tree top you are talking about 50 feet or less. So at what point was it shot down for you to now come up with this conspiracy theory? Well as they say in law, he who alleges has to prove. So it is up to General Ali-Keffi to prove that there is any source of truth or any reason for anyone unbiased to believe what he said”. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
