Sowunmi stressed that El-Rufai and Bello actively supported Tinubu during the 2023 presidential race, but they appear to have been excluded from positions of authority, which has created feelings of betrayal, according to a Daily Post report.

Sowunmi expressed concern over the treatment meted out to El-Rufai and Bello by Tinubu’s government, which he believes contradicts the longstanding understanding between the Yoruba and the northern regions of Nigeria.

The cautionary note extends to Tinubu’s future political aspirations, with Sowunmi urging him to consider whether his work can be completed within one term or if he plans to seek reelection. Sowunmi emphasized the importance of power-sharing and ensuring that those who contribute to political success feel protected and valued.

Sowunmi invoked a deep sense of national duty, urging Tinubu to prioritize the interests of the nation over partisan politics. He underlined the necessity of building a political environment where power is shared, and citizens feel secure in the governance arrangements they help establish.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
