When Laila Johnson-Salami attempted to ask the Minister of Works about the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project in the widely circulated video that was posted on ARISE NEWS’ official X handle, he advised her to speak clearly.
When Laila Johnson-Salami asked;
“Has the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project received final approval from the Federal Ministry of Environment or an exemption has been granted?”.
Umahi responded by saying that;
“Sister, I was raised in the village. I don’t understand phonetics so try to speak well. I think I will need an interpreter”.
However, Atedo Peterside has now reacted after watching the video. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said he likes how the journalist stood her ground and refused to be bullied by the minister.
He wrote on his page;
