The initiative known as the “Pulaaku Initiative,” derived from the Fulani word “Pulaaku,” which means “to be shy,” seeks to offer a non-violent approach to the persistent problems of banditry and insurgency in states including Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Kaduna, Benue, and Plateau.

Senator Sani emphasized the need for a community-driven, multi-stakeholder approach for the initiative to succeed. He urged the federal government, state governments, and local authorities to act as facilitators, providing the necessary framework, guidance, monitoring, and resources for effective implementation at the grassroots level.

Highlighting the critical importance of prudent financial management, Senator Sani underscored that the allocated N50 billion must be judiciously utilized by the affected communities. While acknowledging the commendable nature of the “Pulaaku Initiative,” Senator Sani emphasized that its success hinges on effective management and sustained efforts. The initiative, he concluded, must be appreciated as an unprecedented step but requires careful implementation to achieve its intended impact. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
