During the time, the Nigerian government imprisoned their leader and restricted their autonomy in the southwest by declaring a state of emergency.

According to what Professor Banji Akintoye said in an interview with Punch News, “So, we want to go back to that. That’s not an unreasonable thing to say. However, we look a little deeper than that. We believe that if we were to return to the regions of the 1950s and we were managing our affairs, several things would be possible.
