During an interview with News Central Television on Thursday, Sowore claimed that doctors in Germany had given Akeredolu until May 2023 to live, but the late governor surpassed this prognosis. Sowore expressed the belief that Akeredolu might have lived longer if his wife, Betty, son, and political associates had not brought him back to Nigeria. According to Sowore, Akeredolu’s return was orchestrated to leverage his presence in an attempt to impeach his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who was sworn in as governor following Akeredolu’s demise.
