According to Kayode Ajulo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the recent appointments made by Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the new governor of Ondo State, were necessary because several of his assistants had been fired a few weeks before. He clarified that the appointment was not only a result of the death of the late former governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, but also a reaction to the open positions. He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”To the appointment, I know since last week that the acting governor, Aiyedatiwa needed those people because some of his aides were sacked some weeks ago. And they believe that they must have another one and I believe that must have been the reason for that appointment. I don’t think that is an appointment that is just been done because someone just passed on. The governor has already declared 3 days of mourning in the state. We are really in mourning. I’m in London and I know the number of people that have been calling since I arrived here.
