Speaking during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo which was also carried by Sahara Reporters on Thursday, she said that the Labour Party assured her family that they were in touch with the kidnappers and that it was a political kidnap.

She added that even after her husband was kidnapped, the party was still campaigning for the election.

She said, “They were campaigning regardless, even though my husband was missing. Right in the middle of it, I waited. The election came and passed. In the midst of that – my waiting, I went through all kinds of trauma. I had a miscarriage. I was in the hospital for so long.”

She said that when she couldn’t handle it anymore, she started posting the issue on social media to get the attention of the right people. She added that her mother-in-law later called her to say that Labour Party had reached out to her to warn that all the things she was doing could get her husband killed.

She said that the party wanted her to be quiet and was asking what is her gain in posting about it on social media and attracting the attention of people.

She added, “The organizing secretary didn’t take my calls or return them. He refused to talk to me, and I don’t know why. Then I was able to reach the national party chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, and I spoke to him and asked, what’s going on? Where is my husband?

“He said that had done what they could at the party level to rescue my husband. He said it ought to be a national level, and he didn’t know why they were also silent about it.”
