After Tinubu Slashed The Travel Expenses Of Shettima & Other Govt Officials By 60% Peter Obi Reacts

Former Anambra State governor Peter Obi has resigned from office following the Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, slashing vice president Kashim Shettima’s and other government officials’ travel expenses by 60%. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>

Speaking through his X handle, which was formerly known as Twitter, Obi expressed his opinions. Although the recently announced 60% reduction in the number of government officials’ travel entourages is a step in the right direction, he added that given its narrow reach, the move is only the tip of the iceberg in terms of cost savings.

“The just announced 60% cut in the size of federal official entourages on travels is one positive step towards the reduction of cost of governance and a way of halting wastage. But this measure is just scratching the surface as It is limited in scope and can only lead to a very negligible saving. We are yet to be told how much savings this will amount to. While this modest step may be somewhat commendable, what is desirable should be both a 60% reduction in federal official overseas trips as well as 60% in the size of delegation”.he wrote on his page.
