Remember how Channels TV reported yesterday that the Speaker of the House, Martins Amaewhule, led the Rivers State House of Assembly in overriding Governor Siminalayi Fubara to enact four new bills?
According to the media outlet, the 4 new bills passed into law by Rivers State House of Assembly include the Rivers State Local Government Amendment Law, the Rivers State Traditional Rulers Amendment Law, the Rivers State Advertisment and Use of State Owned Property Prohibition Repeal Law and the Rivers State Funds Management and Financial Autonomy Law.
And so Nollywood veteran actress, Hilda Dokubo in reaction to such announcement by the Rivers State House of Assembly, took to her official Instagram account to state that such move is laughable because one cannot build something on nothing and expect it to stand.
Speaking further, Hilda Dokubo stated that since on the 11th of December 2023, the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martins Amaewhule seized to exist, adding that the moment they defected from the PDP to the APC, the constitution clearly states that their seats are automatically vacant.
The Labour Party chieftain went ahead to state that the Rivers State House of Assembly are currently operating on illegality, adding that she is expecting INEC to declare and give Rivers State people the date for by-elections. CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
