The ransom demand in the Sagwari Estate kidnapping case has reportedly increased to an astounding N700 million, a significant increase from the original N60 million, according to the Leadership report on the issue. The criminals acted in response to what they saw as delays in meeting their growing financial demands, taking the lives of innocent people like 13-year-old Folorunsho Ariyo, a student. The situation got worse when Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, one of the previously abducted individuals, lost her life to the kidnappers.

Trying to help, former Minister Prof. Ali Pantami stepped in, mobilizing N50 million for the Al-Kadriyar family. However, this effort didn’t deter the kidnappers, who not only continued but increased their demands, making it even tougher for the affected families and authorities.

The rise in the ransom to N700 million shows how bold and uncaring these criminals are, pushing the limits and showing a complete lack of regard for human life.
