About thirty terrorists were slain by the Nigerian Air Force during an attack on kidnappers and terrorists along the Kwiga-Kampanin Doka axis in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, according to Daily Trust.

According to the statement which was released by the Director, Public Relations and Information of the Nigerian Air Force, AVM Edward Gabkwet, the airstrike was launched after the Nigerian Air Force received an intelligence report about the activities of the criminals in the area.

In his statement, Gabkwet said that the terrorists were moving in a convoy of 15 motorcycles, with each motorcycle carrying at least two armed terrorists. He said that the Nigerian troops followed them to their location where they usually gather and launched the attack on them.

He said, “The aftermath of the airstrike revealed that several of the terrorists were eliminated as a result of the airstrike.”

In addition to that, he said that the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Hasan Abubakar, has commended the troops for the successful attack.

Abubakar reportedly said, “While this does not call for celebration on our part, I must commend the professionalism of the crew for patiently trailing the criminals until an appropriate opportunity to strike presented itself. We must keep pushing and striving.”

In his reaction to the development, Senator Shehu Sani said that if the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, must be safe, then the terrorists in surrounding states like Kaduna and Niger must be eliminated.

He said, “The fresh military attacks against terrorist targets in Birnin Gwari LG, Kaduna State, that reportedly led to the extermination of 30 of them in their camps is commendable. Abuja can only be safe if the terrorists and kidnappers in Kaduna and Niger states are annihilated or contained.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
