Following famous author Chimamanda Adichie’s remarks regarding Jesus Christ during her address in Germany, Nigerian lawmaker Doyin Okupe responded. Adichie recounted the story of Jesus Christ while discussing the issue of “Ikenga” in a widely circulated viral video.
While speaking to the large audience in Germany, Adichie said;
“I cannot help but really wonder what could be more magical in the story of a man who dies and then magically rises again. A man who manages to magically give his body as bread”.
However, Okupe has now reacted to the statement that was made by Adichie. In the post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, he said Chimamanda’s comments on Jesus Christ in her speech in Germany is unfortunate and unnecessary.
Doyin Okupe wrote on his page;
“Chimamanda’s comments on Jesus Christ in her speech in Germany is unfortunate and unnecessary. Christ offering his body as bread was a covenanted promise of eternal life while his resurrection was an act of assurance by God of the immortality of his only begotten son”.CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
Much learning can make ppl mad. Jesus was and has never been a magician and it is there derogatory to label Him a magician of any sort. Quite unfortunate. A day is coming when she would need to defend that statement.
