Adeboye Reveals "At a Time, 4 of the Real Billionaires in Nigeria Were in This Family, and Pride Came"

Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently gave a speech in which he discussed the effects of tithing on the church, according to the Daily Trust. But ego got in the way, and some rich people demanded to know how their tithes were being used. Adeboye noted that their desire was legitimate, but he also pointed out that there is no biblical precedence for this kind of accountability.

Instead, he offered to provide detailed expenditure reports, accessible to all during church services. Additionally, Adeboye disclosed that he segregated the tithes of these billionaires to test if the church could thrive without their contributions. Subsequently, the businesses of these individuals faltered due to their pride, resulting in a decline from their previous stature.

According to him, “I told you that at a time, four of the real billionaires in Nigeria were in this family, and pride came because the tithe that was coming to the main church through this family was hefty. By that definition, army of the time. All of a sudden, a handful of the big men, not the ones I mentioned, wrote to me and said, Every month, you must give us an account of how you’re spending our tithe. I said okay; what they’re asking for is okay. They’re simply asking for transparency.”

“There’s nothing wrong with that. I said, however, that I have gone through the Bible and have not found a place where God spoke to Moses and said, Every month, you must give an account of the tithe of the children of Israel to them. I said, Alright, I’ll do two things. Number one, I’ll prepare a detailed account of how your money is spent, including if we buy a bottle of Coke for first-timers. I’ll put it in a file, and every month, when you people come for the holy ghost service, that file will be on the table; I won’t give it to you. I’ll put it on the table. Anyone who wants to see can go and read, but make sure you wait till I have left the room because I know everything that we’re doing on earth is being recorded in heaven.” CONTINUE FULL READING>>>>>
