Famous pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye recently provided an inspiring account of a heavenly encounter that occurred a few years ago in a YouTube video, providing insight into the beginnings of an Abuja branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). Adeboye disclosed that during a period of intense prayer at the Sheraton Hotel, he prayed for divine intervention for the impending show. However, God responded to him in an unexpected way. According to him, ” Several years ago we wanted to start a branch of RCCG in Abuja and I was in my room at Sheraton hotel seeking the face of the Lord, crying out to him, father tonight we’re starting the program, I want you to please perform miracles, signs wonders suddenly I heard his voice. God told me shut up, am I your house boy?. Everytime God do this for me, God do this for me, am I your house boy?. All I’ve done for you how much thanks have you given me. He said for the next three days don’t ask anything in prayer from me just thank me. I tried hard, father I thank you, father I appreciate you but please don’t forget tonight, He said no, just praise me. Towards the end of the third day, he said now go home, go and get the elders, all you’ve seen so far is addition, I am about to begin multiplication.”
Adeboye recounted his struggle, trying to balance thanksgiving with the urgency of his initial prayer requests. However, God’s directive remained unwavering – “Just praise me.” As Adeboye faithfully followed this divine instruction, he experienced a transformative shift in perspective.
